BDO Season Guide: Server, Character, & Rewards (2024)

Season Servers are special servers that give additional leveling and character growth benefits not available on normal servers.

In order to enter a Season Server, you must first create a Season Character, which requires a Season Ticket.

Season Dates

Since patch Sep 20, 2023, Season has no end date and you can graduate when your character is ready.

Get your reward… your eternal reward… Muwhaha! 🙂

You can take advantage of Season Server for a couple years as your RL dictates or graduate now after completing Season Pass goals.

After graduation, you can participate in Season again by creating a new Season Character with any remaining Season Tickets.

Season Start

Season Servers are now “Evergreen” and always active.

Season Character vs Normal

A Season Character is just like a normal character except for a few key differences.

• Season Characters can enter both Season and normal servers.
• Season Characters are restricted to wearing certain gear like Naru, Tuvala, Asula, and main quest line gear.
• In order to obtain Season drops, you will need to enter a Season Server with a Season Character.
• Season Characters can’t flag for PVP, but can enter a Season PVP Server with a +50% item drop rate.
• Season Characters frequently get leveling buffs and free items, but can otherwise level, fight, loot, and play normally.

Season Character Creation

Your first step is to create a Season Character.

If you are a brand new player, you will have no choice but to create a Season Character. (since patch July 27, 2022)

Requirements:

• 1 open character slot (Character Slot Expansion Coupon = 10k Loyalties or 600 Pearls)
• 1 Season Character Ticket:
  • 2 Season Character Tickets will be available to you at start.
  • You’ll find the Season Character Ticket counter displayed in the Character Selection window after logging in.
  • You can receive a maximum of 5 Season Character Tickets at a time.
  • Select the button “Season Character”

• You can create a new Season Character, if you have a Season Ticket and you don’t already have a Season Character.
  • 1 Season Ticket is consumed when you graduate with a season character.
• You can only have one season character at any given time.
• 1 Season Ticket = 1 Season Character = new Season rewards.

Next you will be able to customize the appearance of your character and select a name.

When you’re finished, make sure of the following:

• “Season Character” option is selected
• click “Create Character”

Is Season Worth It?

In my opinion, yes. Even if you are a fully geared veteran, playing a Season Character gives you advantages besides good gear, items, and faster levels.

• Experience new content, usually alongside discovering a new class.
• Super fast leveling with 24/7 Combat and Skill EXP buffs
• Optionally choose a Season PVP Server (+50% drops) knowing no one is packing full PEN boss gear. 🙂
• Great way to inexpensively gear up Alts to camp boss spawn spots.
• Obtain enhancement items that you can use on normal gear later.
  • Exchange Season enhancement stones for Advice of Valks and Valks’ Cry
  • Season Server only drops to exchange for goodies
  • Season only events for extra buffs and even more goodies!

Season Leveling Buffs

Season Servers provide a Life Skill, Combat, and Skill EXP buff for faster leveling. The EXP buff will be active regardless of a character’s level.

Season Character Gear

Season Characters can only equip gear that has a special Season icon on them.

Season Character Gear Progresson:

PEN Naru → PRI Tuvala → PEN Tuvala → TET Boss

1. PEN Naru gear is exchanged for PRI Tuvala Gear.
2. Enhance your PRI Tuvala to PEN with Time-Filled Black Stones.
3. PEN Tuvala gear can be exchanged for TET boss gear.

Only select gear like the following can be worn on our Season Character.

• Naru Gear
• Tuvala Gear
• Main quest line gear
• Asula Accessories
• Artifacts
• Crystals
• Chenga Tome
• A few other items that have a Season icon.

Beginner Season Naru Gear

As a new player, blue grade gear will be rewarded from the main quest line.

Quests (O) → Main tab

• You will get Naru armor, weapons, and accessories that are very easy to enhance with Beginner Blackstones.
• Beginner Blacktones are also given as a main quest line reward. Use these to upgrade your Naru all the way to PEN, the maximum enhancement level.
• For players that don’t want to quest, evil quest goblins will reform your die hard beliefs!

Upgrading to Tuvala Gear

• Exchange PEN Naru:PEN Naru armor/weapons can be exchanged for PRI Tuvala gear. (Excludes Awakening Weapon and accessories.)
  • After successfully enhancing to PEN (V) Naru gear, the enhancement window will allow you to convert Naru into PRI (I) Tuvala gear.
  • Press the CONVERT button to convert the Naru gear into Tuvala.
• Exchange Time-filled Black Stones: Time-filled Black Stones can be exchanged to Blacksmith NPCs for Tuvala Gear.

Beginner Tips:

The first set of gear a Season character obtains is the blue grade Naru gear. After enhancing any Naru gear to PEN, you’ll be able to automatically convert it to PRI Tuvala gear in the enhancement window.

Extra Tuvala Gear and Accessories can be obtained by exchanging Time-filled Black Stones to certain NPCs. See the Time-filled Black Stone mouseover ui for a list of exchange NPCs.

You can also obtain 1 PEN Tuvala Ring and 1 PEN Tuvala Earring as rewards from completeing certain objectives in the Season Pass.

Season Tuvala Gear Enhancement

Time-Filled Black Stones are used to improve Tuvala Gear by increasing its enhancement level. You can also exchange them to help upgrade normal gear.

Time-filled Black Stone Highlights:

• Shows a higher Enhancement Chance than normal Black Stones.
• Easily obtainable via quests, grinding, and gathering.
• Exclusive Black Stones to improve a Season Character’s Tuvala Gear.
• Can be obtained, stored, and transferred while a Season Ticket is active.
• At Season Graduation, all Time-filled Black Stones are removed.

Base Enhancement Chances:

• +15: 8%
• PRI: 100%
• DUO: 100%
• TRI: 100%
• TET: 7%
• PEN: 5%

Time-filled Black Stone Info

Time-filled Black Stone can also be exchanged to Fughar for items that upgrade both Tuvala and normal gear.

Obtain Fail Stacks for Season & Normal Gear:

• 20 = Advice of Valks (+10)
• 40 = Valks’ Cry x1
• 50 = Advice of Valks (+20)
• 150 = Advice of Valks (+30)
• 500 = Advice of Valks (+40)

Make sure you turn these in before Season Graduation! Time-filled Blackstones are deleted after Season ends.

Obtain Tuvala Gear:

• 2 Time-filled Blackstones = Tuvala Weapon or Armor x1
• 10 Time-filled Blackstones = Tuvala Accessory x1

Obtain Item Drop Rate Increase:

• 300 Time-filled Blackstones = Item Collection Increase Scroll x1

Repair Max Durability of Tuvala Gear:

• 1 Time-filled Black Stone recovers 5 max durability of Tuvala Gear.

Graduation Dates:

You can graduate at any time you like, after you have completed the Season Pass for that Season Character. Season no longer has a set graduation period with start and end dates.

• You get new Season rewards every Season Ticket. 1 ticket is used when a Season Character graduates.
• You must complete all of the Season Pass in order to graduate.

Special Inactive Account Graduation Rules:

• If your Family hasn’t logged in for 180 days or more, your season character will be automatically graduated.
  • All unclaimed Season Pass rewards will be deleted, and any Tuvala gear in your season character’s possession will be automatically converted according to season graduation rules.
  • Season graduation gifts will also be sent to your Mail (B).

TET Blackstar Challenge for Level 61

After completing the Mediah main questline (or equivalent) and reaching level 61, open Challenge Rewards (Y) to obtain a TET Blackstar Weapon or Dim Origin of Dark Hunger if you already have Blackstar Weapons.

TET Blackstar Challenge Requirements:

• Reach level 61 with your season or normal character.
• Complete any of the following Main Quest Lines:
  • Serendia, Balenos, and Mediah main questlines – Apocalyptic Prophecy (Recommended for beginners.)
  • Main Questlines for Veteran Players:
    • Mountain of Eternal Winter – [Everfrost] Beyond the Doors of Alyaelli
    • Land of the Morning Light – [Koo Mihyun] Seungsan’s Secret
    • Simplified main questline – [Special Growth] Fughar’s Memorandum Chapter 11
• Limited to one time per family. (A second Season or level 61 character will not reward another Blackstar Weapon Challenge.)

You can choose from 3 different TET Blackstar Weapons.

1. Choose the Main Weapon if you use Succession Skills and Awakening Weapon if you use Awakening skills.
2. The Sub-Weapon is the third choice for those who already have TET Blackstar Main and Awakening Weapons.
3. [Event] Dim Origin of Dark Hunger is used during Devour and recommended for advanced players.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Season characters must wait until after they graduate to open the TET (IV) Blackstar weapon box.
• Shai class have buckets of sorrow and cry. Seriously, Shai class can’t open the TET (IV) Blackstar Awakening Box. 🙁
• TET (IV) Blackstar weapons obtained from the box cannot be registered on the Central Market, but they can be enhanced to PEN. (And we hope can be used for Fallen God Weapons in the future.)

Season Pass Rewards

Season Pass is a series of goals that reward Season Characters with goodies.

Rewards must be collected in consecutive order, but most can be completed out of order ahead of time. (You just can’t collect right away.)

1. Frozen and Boiling Tides Black Stone: 100% Enhancement for TET to PEN on Tuvala Gear – save hundreds of Cron Stones.

3. Advice of Valks (gives Failstacks of +30, 40, 60, 80)

Obtain this early on by leveling to 10 on your Season Character.

Click to obtain the item “Season Gift Exchange Coupon”.

Visit Fughar and select his option “Season Special Gift”.

You can choose any gift you haven’t received yet one time per family, except Advice of Valks can be obtained again.

The gifts are family bound, so you can transfer to an Alt.

PLEASE NOTE: “Season Gift Exchange Coupon” does NOT go into your inventory. It goes into the Shai only invisible realm where gifts disappear. 😛

There are some nice rewards for Season Seal of Journey. A few are usually only available in the Pearl Shop.

The Choose Your Pet Box is one of the most helpful rewards if you don’t already have 5 tier 4 pets. Penguin is rarely available in the Pearl Shop and can be exchanged with a “Rare” pet type. Otter is a good choice as well, since it is “Premium” and costs more Pearls normally.

Weapon and Combat/Skill Exchange Coupons are normally not cheap and are pretty rare in the game, but I don’t usually have need of them.

The Floramos Accessory is equivalent to a TRI Manos, which is valued at around 5 billion silver. (Please note that Floramos can’t be enhanced and can’t be sold on the market.)

Choose Your Pet Box costs 50 Season Seal of Journey.

The pet box is a nice reward. Rare Penguin pets normally cost 1100 Pearls for one.

Season Riding Crop

“Fughar’s Riding Crop” is a Season Pass reward for reaching level 20 on your Season Character.

• Item Effect:
  • Max Mount Speed +20%
  • Max Auto-run Speed +50%
  • Auto-run sprint speed +20%
• This item can only be equipped by season characters and it will be removed after the season ends.
• This item cannot be enhanced or registered on the Central Market.

T8 Horse with Courser Skills

“Horse Emblem: Fine Horse Qualification” is a tier 8 horse that is obtained via Season Pass for reaching level 18 on your Season Character.

• Courser Skills that are 100% Learned:
  • Instant Accel
  • S:Instant Accel
  • S:Sideways
• This horse will need to learn the following skills to earn Courser status in order to upgrade it to a Dream Horse:
  • Charge
  • Drift
  • Sprint
  • Sideways
• This horse cannot be registered on the Horse Market, but can be upgraded to a Dream Horse and then sold.

Rift’s Echo

Rift’s Echo is a rare item that spawns a boss event, in which 3 or more different bosses spawn in consecutive order on Season Server.

Lucky players may get a rare boss spawn.

Each boss defeated rewards enhancement items for Tuvala Gear.

Rift’s Fragment	◆ Rift’s Echo can be crafted with Rift’s Fragment x5 by Simple Alchemy (L). ◆ Defeat the bosses summoned from a Rift’s Echo to obtain Tuvala Accessories and enhancement materials. ◆ A party is recommended to take on these mighty foes.

Season Life Skill Alchemy Stone

After completing a series of 9 quests, you will be rewarded with a very nice Alchemy Stone, Treant’s Tear. You will also be rewarded with other helpful Life Skill goodies.

How to Use: Press RMB to equip the item in your Inventory, and press (U) to use. You can use it along with Alchemy/Spirit Stone of Life.

Plump Coelacanth

Plump Coelacanth can be obtained via AFK fishing to help you progress your new Season Character.

Plump Coelacanth Fishing Locations

You can fish Plump Coelacanth with a Fishing Rod at the following locations.

• Equip a fishing rod and click the Coelacanth fishing icon near the mini-map to navigate to the nearest spot.
• The one in Velia is the easiest to find and is also considered a fishing hotspot, which means it gives more than normal high grade fish. (Just look for the large group of players along the beach west of Velia.)

Season Atoraxxion

Atoraxxion: Vahmalkea, Sycrakea, and Yolunakea provide an extra chest for Season Characters. This unique chest has many enhancement items for Tuvala Gear.

Season Grinding Spots

Grinding spots on Season Servers are identical to normal servers, with a few important differences.

Season Grinding Spots:

• Plentiful Tuvala Enhancement materials
• Spawn special Season events for extra enhancement mats
• Earn 300% Combat EXP and 100% more Skill EXP (or more during events)
• Can enjoy the hunt without concern of PVP, unless you enter a special PVP Season Arsha Server that gives a bonus +50% Item Drop Rate buff.

3 Season friendly monster zones are “Party Monster Zones.” (Normal and season servers.)

Party of 3 Recommended

Season Afuaru

Afuaru is a rare spawn while defeating mobs. Chase him down and kill him for loot.

On Season Server, Afuaru spawns like on normal servers, but drops Season goodies.

Enhancements for Tuvala Gear:

• Time-filled Black Stones
• Rarely Frozen Tides Black Stone (free TET (IV) to PEN (V) enhancement for Tuvala gear.)

Season Party of 3 Zones:

Season Ancient Weapon Event

Kill a certain amount of mobs and there is a chance an Ancient Weapon Invasion Event may start.

• Spawn Locations: Mediah and Valencia monster zones
• When the ancient weapon invasion starts, the area will darken, a warning message will appear, and 30 seconds later, a horde of ancient weapons will show up.
• The more adventurers there are nearby, the more will spawn.
• Expect an event boss to spawn.

Best Grinding Spots for Season & Combat EXP

The following grinding spots give higher Combat EXP than normal for their difficulty level. All but two have AP and DP recommendations that Season Characters can obtain with Season Tuvala Gear.

Grinding Spot Combat Exp

Combat Exp can be greatly improved via Combat EXP items like scrolls, foods, and elixirs.

One notable reward for beginners is the 530% Combat Exp Scroll purchased for cheap:

• Pearl Shop (F3) → “Black Spirit’s Pick” → “Silver Event Items,” → [Event] Combat & Skill EXP 530% Scroll (60 min) If they moved it, just do a search for “530”.
• There are rare and limited, so wait to use these until leveling starts to feel slow from quests and hunting mobs.

Season Quests to Kill Mobs

600 Time-filled Black Stones can be obtained every week via kill quests from Node Managers.

Rewards:

• x600 Time-filled Black Stone
• – Rift’s Echo (boss event for Time-filled Black Stones)
• – Contribution EXP (300)

There are two types of quests to kill mobs for enhancement materials.

• Weekly Season Grind: Obtain 600 black stones for Tuvala enhancement.
• Region Monster Zone: Obtain enhancement materials for Tuvala and normal gear.

Season Weekly Quests

A Season Weekly quest is given by Node Managers in certain regions who require you to kill 150 to 500 monsters in the area.

View these quests under “[Season Weekly] Stronger Tuvala Gear” inside the Quest (O) window → Recurring tab.

• x600 Time-filled Black Stone
• – Rift’s Echo (boss summon for Time-filled Black Stones)
• – Contribution EXP (300)

In the Season quest list below, level is required for regional quests only. The weekly Season grind quests have no level requirement.

Regional Quests

As you are happily defeating baddies, you may stumble upon Regional Monster Zone Quests that will automatically be given to you if you are the correct level. The UI will appear next to your mini-map.

• These quests are sometimes called instant quests because you instantly obtain them and don’t have to get them from an NPC.
• To obtain regional quests, just enter the grinding spot on your Season Character and an alert window will show next to the mini map.
• Please note that normal regional Subjugation quests may take precedence. When you finish these, you will then see the Season regional quests.

Season PVP with Red Battlefield

The Season quest for Red Battlefield can be completed once a day.

Quest Objective: Obtain 1x Battlefield Token from completing a Red Battlefield.

• Gives 1 Rift’s Fragment, allowing you to obtain about 1 Rift’s Echo every week.
• To join Red Battlefield press Esc > War (F7) > Red Battlefield (1)
• You can join in the first 10 minutes of Red Battlefield.

Season Character Tip for Veterans

You can skip the main quest line, if you have already completed it once before.

Special Growth Questline:

• Be a Season Character on a Season Server.
• Complete the quest, “[Balenos] Dark Clouds Over Velia” (part of the main beginner Balenos questline)
• Select “[Crossroad] Simplified” button on the “Select Quest” pop-up window that appears after turning in “[Balenos] Dark Clouds Over Velia” to Alustin in Velia.
• From Black Spirit: “[Special Growth] Birth of a Prestigious Family”
• View progress: press O key then Main tab.

For players, who have already done the main story line, on a different character, you can wear any of your old main quest line gear.

Season Restrictions

Server Restrictions:

• Season Server can only be used by Season characters until graduation.
  • When a Season Character graduates, their gear is converted into family bound gear.
  • Graduated Season Characters can no longer enter Season Servers.

Character Restrictions:

• Only select gear can be worn like:
  • Naru Gear
  • Tuvala Gear
  • Main quest line gear
  • Asula Accessories
• Only 1 Season Character per family is allowed at the same time.
• Season Characters can’t use Combat/Skill EXP exchange coupons.
• Season Characters can’t be tagged in the Tag Character function to copy Exp and gear.

Fughar’s Timepiece (Retired)

The quest to obtain this item was removed and the item has now been deleted from player inventories.

It was like leveling 2 characters at the same time. (You can still do this after graduation, via Tag Character.)

Fughar’s Timepiece transfered your Season Character’s status, Combat/Skill EXP, and Tuvala Gear.

Your orginal Season Character got to keep their levels and Combat/Skill EXP.
